The steel mill of tomorrow is represented by an ensemble of over 200 meticulously built semi-transparent acrylic models on a 24 sqm LED wall in the center of the Steel City. Together, they demonstrate the fully automated future of the steel industry.
The LED wall underneath the models shows a variety demonstration scenarios, literally lighting up the Steel City:
Selecting one of twelve possible topics and use cases on the user terminals really gets the show going, melting and processing steel, streaming data through virtual wires, contextually showing problems and their solutions in displays and animated schematics on the Steel City itself.
Discreetly at times, and then again spectacularly flashy, state-of-the-art technology and innovative interaction design and smart light design draw visitors close to enjoy magical moments. The entire experience is supported by sublevel of dense, subject-specific in-depth information covering the many aspects of Industry 4.0 in the steel mills of the future. Viewers use a custom-made haptic interface to operate the terminals around the Steel City and gather detailed information on the scenarios and internal processes on display. The info terminal content merges seamlessly with the corresponding animations on the Steel City, providing visitors with an unforgettable experience.
