For the exhibition Future of Energy, Responsive Spaces developed an educational concept consists of eight consecutive stations. What is CO₂? Why is it in our atmosphere? How much of it is harmful? What answers does Energie AG’s LOOP strategy provide to the energy-policy challenges of the future?
A central highlight is the »Sun Controller«: it allows visitors to change the time of day within the space. Shifting the time of day has an immediate impact on energy availability and the generation of electricity from renewable sources, making their temporal dependence tangible. The lighting throughout the entire space and all stations adapt in real time to the simulated time of day. Key topics and interrelationships surrounding electrical energy are thus not only explained but also experienced interactively and visually.
Stations such as »The Good Ones« and »Green Batteries« present concrete solutions and areas of application, illustrating the most important relationships. Playful elements are repeatedly integrated to captivate the young target audience. With »Our Electricity Demand« and »Our Power Grids«, the perspective expands from the individual to the overall system. Based on real data, »Our Electricity Demand« visualizes current power consumption over the course of a day and, using a forecast up to 2035, shows the future requirements for grids and supply. The »Quiz« at the end of the tour revisits what has been experienced and helps consolidate personal insights.
The exhibition Future of Energy thus became a modern, experience-oriented learning space designed especially to inspire school classes.
Energy Experience World. But done right.
