The pavilion of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was designed by Boris Micka Associates and fuses architecture with digital technology. Kraftwerk Living Technologies is responsible for all audiovisual technology elements of this project, which has received multiple awards from Guinness World Records for its groundbreaking technological achievements.
A highlight of the exhibition is the »Vision« room, which takes visitors on an immersive journey through the past, present and future of the Kingdom. This colossal art installation, a floating virtual sphere almost 30 meters in diameter, was brought to life by a group of Saudi artists. The floor of the 300qm space is covered by 14 projectors synchronized to the content on the virtual sphere. Infrared tracking built into the ceiling allowed Responsive Spaces to add real-time interactive effects that respond to the presence and movement of visitors. The final result was developed in close coordination with architect and designer Boris Micka.
